Mourant continues its support of Jersey youth netball
Mourant has confirmed its sponsorship of Jersey Team JETS U14, U16 and senior netball squads for a further three years, until the end of 2026. Mourant is a longstanding supporter of the club, having sponsored the teams since 2021.
The firm's support will contribute to the JETS' travel costs, enabling the teams to compete in regional leagues in the UK and providing the players with the opportunity to participate and experience competitions on the regional, and potentially national, stage.

International netball star visits Mourant
In March, to coincide with International Women's Day celebrations, the Mourant Jersey office welcomed special guest speaker and Team JETS coach, Serena Kersten (née Guthrie) MBE, to its Jersey office to deliver a motivational talk.
Serena has experienced an impressive career playing netball internationally for England and reaching world class status, being named as one of the top netball players in the world.
Her career saw her achieve the Commonwealth gold medal in 2018, win three bronze World Cup medals, and lead the England team in the 2019 World Cup. In 2019 she was awarded an MBE for her outstanding services to netball.
Now retired from professional netball, Serena has taken the position as the JETS' coach, as well as offering her services as a qualified leadership and people development coach and consultant. Serena offers specialist advice in the business performance sector, with a specific focus on people development, shared ownership and individual empowerment and understands the challenges that people and teams face in a sporting environment which are often mirrored in a business setting.

On her visit to Mourant, Serena's presentation covered this very topic, and drew similarities between sports and business that can be applicable to all.
In addition to the guest speaking slot, Serena also coached a netball session with members of the firm, which culminated in a friendly match.
Supporting grass roots sport
Mourant has a long history of supporting sports teams, particularly youth sport, in the multiple regions the firm operates in.
Other recent sponsorships in the Channel Islands include a longstanding partnership with the Guernsey Football Association, while in Hong Kong, the firm has recently renewed its sponsorship of the Hong Kong Football Club's rugby section for the 2023/2024 season.
