Mourant du Feu & Jeune to open legal practice in Guernsey

Mourant du Feu & Jeune announces that it will open a legal practice in Guernsey early in 2006.

As part of its ongoing expansion plans, Mourant entered the Guernsey fund administration market in 2002 and has rapidly become a significant player.

Plans are now announced to expand the Guernsey presence to include Mourant du Feu & Jeune, which will operate at Mourant’s existing Guernsey premises at Admiral Park.

Tim Herbert, Managing Partner of Mourant du Feu & Jeune, said:

"For some time we have been seeking to enter the Guernsey legal market in a way which ensures we can maintain the high standards that have won us our top tier position in the offshore legal world. Initially the new Guernsey law practice will focus on international financial business, and in particular establishing and advising on private equity, property and hedge funds. It will complement Mourant’s existing Guernsey fund administration business which is proving very successful."

Closer to the opening of the new practice Mourant du Feu & Jeune will announce the name of an experienced lawyer who will take the lead locally in building the new business.
