Giles was appointed a Partner of Mourant du Feu & Jeune in January 2005 and heads the fourteen lawyer-strong Jersey Trusts team. Giles has worked in leading Jersey law firms since 1995 and has specialised in trusts and private client work since 1996. He was called to the Jersey Bar as an Advocate in 2000. Giles practices in all aspects of non-contentious trust law with a focus on positively assisting trust companies on issues concerning private trusts and in particular drafting indemnities, Settlor reserved power trusts, designing the architecture of new trust structures and the preparation of all trust related documentation. He is also an active member of the Trusts Law Working Group, a technical legal advisory body which fulfils the function of recommending new trust legislation for the island and is also a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
