Desmond was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria, Melbourne and the High Court & Federal Courts of Australia in 1996. Before joining Mourant du Feune & Jeune in January 2005, Desmond was a senior associate and then special counsel at a boutique commercial law firm in Melbourne and had practised primarily in Mergers & Acquisitions, Takeovers, Fundraising, Finance and Corporations Law. Prior to that, he was a corporate and commercial lawyer with Maddocks in Melbourne and also spent a year as special counsel in East Malaysia with Messrs Ee & Lim. He had trained as an articled-clerk with Lincolns (an alliance of Deacons, Melbourne at the time). Desmond has a Bachelor of Commerce degree as well as a Bachelor of Laws degree. He joined our Cayman law office in August 2006 having spent just under 2 years in the Jersey law office working primarily in Funds and Corporate & Banking. He is admitted as an attorney-at-law of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands and now practices in Funds, Private Equity, Capital Markets, Corporate and Banking.
