Mourant has been named ’Channel Islands Fund Administrator of the Year’ at the International Custody and Fund Administration awards in London.
Mourant becomes the inaugural winner of the award which was introduced for the first time at this year’s ceremony. The event took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane on 22 February.
The aim of the awards is to recognise and highlight excellence and specific achievement throughout many sectors of European custody and fund administration support - the European investment back office - encouraging service providers to raise standards and improve efficiency and client service.
In deciding the winners, a specialist judging team, chaired by International Custody and Fund Administration editor Jason Conway, assessed the individual merits of each submission in conjunction with the nominations received. Jason said; ’The quality of the entrants this year has been astounding. The awards recognise service providers who can demonstrate genuine quality, consistency and innovation at a European level. The ability to provide highly efficient cost-effective solutions was considered key to an applicant’s success.’
Commenting on winning the award, Ian Lambert, head of Jersey fund administration at Mourant, said: ’It is enormously satisfying to see our efforts rewarded in this way. It was particularly pleasing that the judges have recognised Mourant for our innovative and dynamic growth, whilst always continuing to maintain a high quality of client service. Of course the real winners of this award are the extremely dedicated teams of people at Mourant working across the Jersey and Guernsey fund and support teams who I’m continually very grateful to.’
Iain Stokes, head of Guernsey fund administration at Mourant, added: ’This is a fantastic achievement. We have been benchmarked by the judges against all our major competitors and the award reflects the quality, knowledge and skills of our teams and the added value service they consistently offer our clients.’
Chris Matthews, representing the sponsors of the award, Ernst & Young, congratulated Mourant for its achievement. Chris said: ’These highly prestigious awards have become the industry benchmark for service providers and are highly respected indicators of quality. The award ceremony is a highlight in the funds industry calendar’.
