Mourant appoints Group Chief Operating Officer

Mourant announces the appointment of Peter Pichler as Group Chief Operating Officer with effect from 15 March 2006.
Peter Pichler, a chartered accountant, has followed a successful career in banking since joining Midland Bank in Toronto in 1979. After nine years in Canada he moved with Midland Bank to Jersey, where he held senior operational management roles.
In 1995 he joined Deutsche Bank in Jersey as Director, Finance & Resources, moving to the role of Chief Executive in 2002 with responsibility for Deutsche’s businesses in Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman and Mauritius.
His appointment at Mourant to this newly-created position follows a year as a consultant to the firm, focusing on strategic IT development. As a member of Mourant’s Management Board he will have responsibility for the IT, Compliance and Office Services functions and all other operational matters affecting the Mourant group of businesses in all its offices.
