CVC European Equity Partners IV

Jacqueline Richomme and Sophie Travis advised on CVC European Equity Partners IV, the largest ever European private equity fund.

This is the fourth CVC European fund that we have provided Jersey legal advice, having maintained a long relationship with CVC going back to 1993.

Fund IV comprises five Cayman limited partnerships, one Jersey limited partnership and two Jersey general partner companies, with a total of 255 limited partners and combined commitments of €6 billion. In addition to the Jersey legal and regulatory aspects in relation to the investment fund, we also acted in the establishment and capital structuring of the two Jersey general partner companies with equity and loan capital, and a Jersey limited partnership as the carried interest partner. We are also co-ordinating the provision of legal opinions to the fund from each jurisdiction in which the fund will invest, in relation to the recognition of the limited liability of the limited partners.
