Janet received a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados in 1991. She was admitted to practise as an Attorney-at-Law in the Supreme Court of Jamaica in 1993 and in the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands in 2001. Prior to joining Quin & Hampson in 2001 Janet practised in the areas of Corporate and Commercial Law, Maritime Law and Property Law at the firm Livingston Alexander & Levy in Jamaica. Janet’s main areas of expertise are in Corporate and Commercial Law and her practice at Mourant is focused on the investment management and alternative investment industries. She has extensive experience in the representation of hedge funds, investment managers and service providers to the hedge fund and private equity markets. Her practice also includes presentation of companies for listing on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange, advising on regulatory and compliance issues and other corporate transactions associated with the establishment and ongoing operation of private investment funds. Janet is a member of the Jamaica Bar Association and the Cayman Islands Law Society.
