Guernsey funds bible ranks Mourant du Feu & Jeune in top five

Mourant du Feu & Jeune is ranked as one of the top five legal advisers to funds in Guernsey, in its second year of operations in the island. The Guernsey Funds Encyclopaedia, published by market analyst Lipper Fitzrovia, recognises Mourant’s expertise in the funds arena, placing the firm ahead of many established practices.

Mourant du Feu & Jeune opened the doors of its Guernsey legal practice in January 2006 with the intention of establishing and advising on private equity, property and hedge funds, complementing Mourant’s existing Guernsey fund administration business. Quickly establishing itself in the legal market, the firm has already trebled its legal practice team to cope with the increasing demand for its services.

Cyman Davies, Head of the Funds team at Mourant du Feu & Jeune, commented: "The incredible success of Mourant du Feu & Jeune in the Guernsey funds market is testament to the consistent quality of service we offer as an international legal adviser to funds. We have particular strength in establishing and advising on private equity, property and hedge funds, drawing on Mourant’s well-established position in the offshore funds world."

He added: "This comes during an exciting year for Mourant. We are celebrating our 60th anniversary, have merged with Cayman-based firm Quin & Hampson, opened our legal practice in New York and launched our fund administration services in San Francisco, Singapore and Hong Kong."
