Mourant lawyer shortlisted for diversity role model award

Senior Associate at Mourant, Carly McIver, has been shortlisted in the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2020.

Carly, from the firm's International Trusts and Private Client team based in Jersey, is nominated for the 'Diversity/Gender Positive Role Model of the Year' Award.

Now in its fifteenth year, Citywealth's flagship Magic Circle Awards celebrate the best advisors and managers in the global wealth industry acknowledging the achievements of both individuals and companies over the past year.

This recognition follows a year of success where Carly was shortlisted in the 2019 Professional Pensions Rising Star Awards, received the Group of the Year Award at Jersey's 2019 Sport & Move More Awards and more recently is shortlisted in the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2020 for Woman of the Year – Future Leaders (Senior Associate, SVP).

Carly, praised as a 'tenacious advocate for equality', is a founding member of two Mourant employee led networks that support inclusion in the workplace – the Gender Balance Network, supporting gender diversity across the firm, and the Wellbeing Network, promoting positive mental and physical wellbeing. Plus recently, Carly has supported the firm's new LGBT & Friends global network.

In recognising the opportunity to offer colleagues of all ages and gender the chance to take up exercise, Carly also established an in-house running club. The award winning club, @jersey.runclub, has now grown to offer both employees and the local community weekly training sessions at which Carly volunteers as lead coach.

The winners of the Magic Circle Awards 2020 will be announced in London on 13 May 2020.
