Mourant advises on US$160 million secured acquisition financing to the JA Solar Group

Mourant Ozannes acted as BVI and Cayman Islands counsel for the syndicate of lenders, including Credit Suisse and CSI Finance Limited, in connection with the US$160 million secured acquisition financing of the take-private of JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd., a Cayman Islands exempted company formerly listed on NASDAQ.
The take-private was effected by way of a Cayman Islands statutory merger, pursuant to which JA Solar ceased to be a publicly traded company and became a subsidiary of the buyer group.
JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. is one of the world's largest manufacturers of high performance solar power products.
The Mourant team was led by Partner, Claire Fulton and Associates, Peter Vas and Lily Li who acted alongside Allen & Overy's Hong Kong finance team.
