Opportunities and trends in fund transactions discussed at Mourant's London conference

15 May 2019

More than 100 delegates from the global funds industry came together for Mourant's annual Fund Transactions Conference in London on 14 May, to hear opinions and insights on the opportunities and transaction trends within the industry and how they may shape its future.

The conference, hosted annually by leading offshore law firm Mourant, brought together a range of high-profileexperts, including representatives from the legal, regulatory, finance and communications sectors, to discuss a variety of topics of international interest.

Among the subjects addressed at the event, held at the historic grade-II listed Chartered Accountants’ Hall in the City, were the management of risk in private equity transactions; the opportunities for using court processes strategically and as a transaction tool risks; and the role of international finance centres in facilitating economic development and the geographical reach of nations.

The event also provided an opportunity for panellists and delegates to connect and network while discussing the key themes that surfaced during the day.

Robert Duggan, London Managing Partner at Mourant and host of the event, said: “I'm proud that we're able to bring such a wide range of highly regarded specialists together in one room to discuss the major international topics affecting our industry in such depth. I’m sure it gave delegates new perspectives and plenty of food for thought on the future of the global funds industry, its beneficial impact on the societies in which we live and work as well as its role in unlocking economic opportunity in developing economies worldwide. ”
