Mourant Partner awarded 2020 Dee Dee Sklar Women in Fund Finance Award

Danielle Roman, a partner at leading offshore legal and governance services firm, Mourant, has been awarded the 2020 Dee Dee Sklar Women in Fund Finance Award.

The award recognizes Danielle's outstanding overall contribution to women in fund finance and the industry, furthering the purposes and objective of the Fund Finance Association’s (FFA) Women in Fund Finance (WFF) initiative. Danielle is on the steering committee for the FFA symposium for Asia, and is co-chair of the Women in Fund Finance Asia committee.

The award was presented by Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Dave Wasserman, at the FFA Global Fund Finance Symposium in Miami last week.

Danielle, who is a Partner in the Banking and Finance team in Mourant's Hong Kong office has a substantial practice comprising a broad spectrum of cross-border transactions, specializing in fund financing and asset finance. Danielle Roman said: “I am passionate about motivating women to feel empowered to be ambitious, to take risks, to be leaders and to break through stereotypes. I hope that my work with WFF will help to increase engagement, recognition and promotion of a diversity of leaders within the fund finance industry in Asia and beyond”.

In addition to her work with WFF, Danielle is on the leadership committee for the Advancement of Women in Aviation Roundtable (AWAR) whose mission is to engage with CEOs and other senior executives to build awareness and develop actionable strategies to propose the development and advancement of women leaders in the aviation industry.

The Fund Finance Association (FFA) is a non-profit industry association for the fund finance market. The annual Dee Dee Sklar Award is presented to a member who carries on the mission of Women in Fund Finance and the legacy Sklar built within the FFA, as a founding member of the initiative.
