Our dynamic Business practice area is focussed on serving clients who operate in Jersey or Guernsey or have property interests in Jersey and is at the forefront of M&A, employment, property and commercial services, with specialist teams covering each of these segments. The introduction of new laws relating to competition, human rights, intellectual property, data protection and e-commerce drives the team to meet an ever-growing demand for corporate advice to businesses on these areas.
Commercial and M&A services include the sale and purchase of Jersey and Guernsey businesses, the set-up of regulated and non-regulated businesses, restructuring of businesses, redomiciliation of companies (to and from Jersey and Guernsey) and schemes of amalgamation under the Companies Law.
Our Employment team advises on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, in both Jersey and Guernsey, including unfair dismissal, compromise agreements, discrimination, restrictive covenants, handbooks, disciplinary and grievance procedures and tribunal claims.
The Property Law team deals with all aspects of Jersey property work including sales, purchases, share transfers and leases, as well as financing, developments, building contracts, appointments, collateral warranties and all related matters including statutory consents including high value prestige residential property.
