Financial Services team

As part of its Finance practice area, Mourant du Feu & Jeune has a dynamic team, headed by partner Simon Gould, focused on the provision of Jersey banking advice and advice on the conduct of financial services business in the island. Its clients include two thirds of all banks registered in Jersey, and Jersey and overseas investment businesses, trust companies, brokers and insurers conducting business in or with Jersey.

The team has the commercial acumen, with the experience and focus on client service and efficiency, to provide practical advice on all aspects of the conduct of banking and financial services business from small to large scale secured credit transactions and routine operations to regulatory, compliance and risk matters.

Financial Services

Members of the team have been actively engaged over the past decade, as Jersey has introduced and enhanced its regulatory legislation, in shaping the development of that legislation and working with the Jersey Financial Services Commission. The team is therefore able to provide a unique insight for clients involved in regulated business in Jersey.

Jersey Banking

Our Jersey banking team recently advised a local bank on one of the largest loan facilities provided to a local company, involving co-ordination of lawyers in three jurisdictions and creation of security over more than 60 properties. The team regularly provides advice on similar credit transactions and reviews and updates standard banking documentation for new and existing banking products.
