Data Protection Advice: Cayman, Guernsey, Jersey
The data protection law team at Mourant du Feu & Jeune, led by senior associates Helen Ruelle and Mathew Cook, advises on all aspects of the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005 (the "Law").
The team has advised on all aspects of the law including compliance with data subject access requests, drafting data protection policies and terms of business, the impact of the Law for complex corporate structures and administration businesses, disclosure and transfers of data, cross-jurisdictional aspects of the Law, HR issues relating to data protection and many more.
The team is regularly instructed by leading financial institutions to consider data protection issues with a particular emphasis on the wider issues of privacy, confidentiality and disclosure of data to third parties.
The team has also provided training and workshops on the Law for a range of clients and audiences and ran a conference when the law came into force attended by over 100 delegates.
Helen has recently been appointed as legal advisor to the States of Jersey Scrutiny Sub-Panel to advice on proposed amendments to the Law.
