Jersey Property Law team

Headed by partner Liz Breen, Mourant du Feu & Jeune’s Jersey Property Law team is focused on providing the advice and service required in today’s highly competitive commercial property market. It was the first to specialise in all aspects of commercial property law in Jersey and has created a ’one-stop’ commercial property shop to provide a complete service to clients.

The team also has experience in acting for developers in the sale of building sites with build agreements. Its sale of 57 sites in one sitting, the first of its kind in Jersey, was described by the Royal Court as an ’historic moment’.

The team deals with Jersey property work including not only sales, purchases and leases but also financing, building contracts, appointments, collateral warranties and related matters.

It also deals with all ancillary matters to property transactions in Jersey such as licensing, applications for permissions to trade in Jersey and all other associated issues, and the provision of general property advice, particularly in relation to the complexities of the island’s Housing Law which regulates who can and cannot occupy property in Jersey.
