Mourant proudly supports the Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation

We were proud to support the Cable & Wireless Legal and Regulatory Team, who is committed to raising funds and awareness for a very important cause.

Staying true to the mission of enabling progress and building resilient communities, the Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation (the “Foundation”) has set its sights on developing initiatives rooted in the long-term needs of our communities and providing resources that they can make available as a leading telecommunications operator. In the past year, thousands of students have had their learning completely halted because of a lack of access to technology. Education ministries across the Caribbean and Latin America are requesting broadband service and devices to bridge the digital divide. The Foundation is prioritising this much needed support and subsidising the cost of service and equipment within multiple school systems.

As the first stage of a longer-term initiative, the Foundation is providing data-loaded devices and has already donated over 500 laptops and tablets in Jamaica, Trinidad, Panama, and Curaçao.

To help raise awareness and support for their fundraising efforts, the Legal and Regulatory Team took part in a 36-Hour Exercise Challenge, where each participant exercised for 1-hour over a 36 hour period. We were proud to pledge $5,000 in support of this much needed initiative.
