Mourant Ozannes and CIPD Jersey Branch Conference: Age in the workplace
The demographic of our population is changing and our workforce will change in response. There can be no doubt that engaging employees of all ages is good for business and creates a broader range of skills and experience. However, age-related myths abound with the result that many organisations have yet to genuinely embrace age-diversity.
The Draft Discrimination (Age) (Jersey) Regulations 201- (Age Regulations) will be debated by the States of Jersey on 24 May 2016. The Regulations will prohibit age discrimination in a number of areas.

Dr Annette Cox of the Institute for Employment Studies also spoke at the event. Annette has 17 years of research experience on HR and employment topics and is currently leading a systematic review of evidence on how employers can protect and promote the wellbeing of older workers and support good retirement transitions. Annette has spoken many times at events on the topic of age diverse workplaces.
