Discrimination and disability in the workplace

 Please join us for the Mourant Ozannes and CIPD Jersey Branch Conference: Discrimination and disability in the workplace.

According to the Disability Strategy for Jersey, approximately 14,000 people in Jersey have a disability of some kind. Whilst some disabilities are immediately apparent, others are not. From 1 September 2018, the Discrimination (Disability) (Jersey) Regulations 2018 (the Regulations) will prohibit disability discrimination in a number of areas. In advance of this date, it is important that organisations understand what constitutes a 'disability' under the Regulations and how best those with disabilities can be supported under the new framework.

During the conference we will be discussing the practical implications of the Regulations, including:

• Preparation and potential pitfalls;
• What amounts to a disability;
• Key workplace issues;
• Making reasonable adjustments.

We are also delighted to be joined by external speakers who will provide their insight into employing people of all abilities, and supporting those with disabilities to prepare for, identify and maintain employment in Jersey.

Please see below to RSVP. We hope you are able to join us.
