Disclosure of information relating to Jersey entities
08 January 2021
Jersey entities need to take action in relation to their obligations to disclose of information under the new Jersey Registry Law, which came into force on 6 January 2021, with specific focus on a range of new concepts and obligations they now have to fulfil. Our latest Guide sets out exactly what is required, including a useful summary of the obligations under the new law for companies, foundations, incorporated limited partnerships, separate limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships and limited liability companies incorporated or established in Jersey. The new obligations include appointment of nominated persons, disclosure of significant person information, disclosure of beneficial owner information (which is only a new obligation for foundations and some funds), and disclosure of nominee shareholders and their nominators. The law also grants new powers to the JFSC to strike off entities for non-compliance and specifies what information will be available to the public.
