Supporting the Cayman Island Red Cross with its 'Donate With Dignity' campaign
We were delighted to recently partner with the Cayman Islands Red Cross (CIRC) to support its 'Donate With Dignity' campaign.
The campaign was launched to encourage islanders to assess the quality of their donations to the CIRC Thrift Shop to consider if the person buying the item was a family member, whether they would they look presentable and put together to the outside world.
The Thrift Shop serves the islands' most vulnerable people by offering new and gently used items such as clothing, shoes, furniture, appliances, household and other miscellaneous items generously donated by members of the local community.
The Thrift Shop works closely with the Cayman government and non-governmental organisation (NGOs) which refer clients and beneficiaries to its service. It also supports families who are victims of disaster, be it island-wide disasters such as hurricanes, or an individual family's disaster, such as a house fire. The Thrift Shop provides these families with clothing, bedding, furniture and other critical items when they need them the most.
To launch the Donate With Dignity initiative, we welcomed Eddie Sepp Tinling-Miller, Community Engagement Programme Manager at the CIRC, who delivered an engaging presentation to our Cayman team about the organisation and the impact of the campaign.
Overall, our team collected an impressive 23 full bags of good quality donations to support CIRC in its valuable work.
Commenting on the firm's involvement with the campaign, our Cayman Islands Managing Partner, Hayden Isbister, said:
"We were delighted to partner with the CIRC on the recent Donate With Dignity campaign. This initiative closely aligns with our firm's values of dignity, compassion, and community support. By encouraging thoughtful and meaningful giving, the campaign ensures that those who rely on the CIRC Thrift Shop receive items that are not only useful but also allow them to feel confident and respected. We’re proud of our Cayman team for their enthusiastic participation and contributions to such a meaningful cause."
