Team Mourant supports second Cayman Islands Pride Parade

Team Mourant was proud to support the second Cayman Islands Pride Parade on Saturday 30 July 2022.

The official celebration of Pride in Cayman included a street parade that travelled from Seven Mile Public Beach down West Bay Road to Camana Bay.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion is a key business and people priority for us and it was therefore fantastic that our Cayman colleagues participated in the parade to celebrate the LGBT+ community, recognise progress that has been made in the LGBT+ rights movement and raise awareness of ongoing challenges experienced by LGBT+ people.

Cayman Islands Premier, Hon. Wayne Panton JP, MP spoke at the event, remarking that: “It is my dream that one day everyone in our islands will be judged by the content of their character, not by the colour of their skin, not by their gender and certainly not their sexual orientation. Everybody deserves respect and the dignity to be who they are."

Acting Governor Hon. Franz Manderson, Cert Hon, JP also took part in the parade alongside Ms Barbara Conolly JP, MP.

We're proud to support this significant step in support of LGBT+ rights and inclusion in the Cayman Islands.
