Mourant Governance Services awarded Jersey governance award by leading industry body

Mourant Governance Services in Jersey has been named winner of the 2023 Governance Award at the CGI (Chartered Governance Institute) Jersey branch awards ceremony.
The Governance Award was presented at CGI's Jersey Annual Dinner, Graduation and Awards evening, which took place on Friday 20 October.
The award was sponsored by the CGI Jersey branch with the winner decided following a comprehensive filtering process, which tested nominees on principles of good governance and risk management, commitment to education and knowledge sharing and use of technology alongside innovation. Also included in the judging process was an interview with members of an independent judging panel.
As well as the awards ceremony, the evening was also an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of over 40 students who were either graduating, or being upgraded to Associate or Fellow status.
The Chartered Governance Institute, previously known as The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), was founded in 1891 to represent the interests of the emerging profession of corporation secretaries. Its Jersey branch was established in the early 1980s to provide continuing professional development and networking opportunities for the institute's members and students living in Jersey.
As an independent advocate for reform in governance, the CGI provides thought-leadership and guidance across different sectors. It also qualifies chartered secretaries and chartered governance professionals, offers bespoke training for boards and ensures practitioners up to date with the latest in law, regulation and procedure. In 2019, the CGI officially changed its name to further demonstrate the professional support provided to all those in governance roles.
