Mourant achieves top position in Chambers High Net Worth Guide

Mourant Ozannes' market leading trusts and private client practice in Jersey has achieved a Band 1 position in the latest Chambers and Partners High Net Worth (HNW) Guide, praised by sources as "the premier firm on the Island".

The Guernsey practice maintained its Band 2 position and is praised for its "practical, easy-to-understand advice" and "great service". Seven lawyers are ranked in the trust and private client practitioner tables.

A highly experienced trust litigator, Jonathan Speck is described as "extremely accomplished, smooth as silk and adored by the judiciary." International practice group head, Edward Devenport "is one of the old masters of the trust industry," with sources adding that "there's nothing he doesn't know." Giles Corbin is praised for his "very technical, friendly and efficient" and "extremely knowledgeable and professional" approach. Bruce Lincoln is "academically brilliant", "great with clients" and "a top practitioner".

Head of the Guernsey trusts and private client practice, Matthew Guthrie, "has excellent technical knowledge" and is "great to work with". Senior Associate Catherine Moore, ranked as an 'Associate to watch', has "excellent all-round expertise", and is praised by sources as "a promising young lawyer in the team".

Partner Tony Pursall is recognised in the expertise abroad category for both the BVI and Cayman Islands. He is an "acknowledged expert in offshore law generally, and specifically Cayman and BVI law," and "is a leading player and a safe pair of hands."
