Mourant Senior Associate wins Gold at Citywealth Magic Circle Awards

Carly McIver, Senior Associate at Mourant, won Gold for the 'Diversity/Gender Positive Role Model of the Year' at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2020.

Citywealth's flagship Magic Circle Awards, celebrates the world's leading advisors and managers in the wealth industry, acknowledging the achievements of both individuals and companies.

Carly, from the firm's International Trusts and Private Client team in Jersey, has been recognised for her outstanding contribution in fostering an inclusive community at Mourant, reflecting the firm's approach to nurturing a culture of inclusivity and mutual respect and empowering people to make change through employee led networks.

Praised as a 'tenacious advocate for equality', Carly is a founding member of two Mourant employee led networks that support inclusion in the workplace – the Gender Balance Network, supporting gender diversity across the firm, and the Wellbeing Network, promoting positive mental and physical wellbeing. Plus recently, Carly has supported the firm's LGBT & Friends global network.

In recognising the opportunity to offer colleagues of all ages and gender the chance to take up exercise, Carly also established an in-house running club. The award winning club, @jersey.runclub, has now grown to offer both employees and the local community weekly training sessions at which Carly volunteers as lead coach.
