On Sunday 7 May, James Broad, Lily Miao, Adam Barrie and Naomi Crawford from our Hong Kong office joined over 1,000 other attendees at the Goodman Magic Mile fundraising event.

The team completed a one-mile run around one of Goodman's logistics warehouse in aid of Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong, a charity that provides housing solutions for families in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Goodman Magic Mile event raised a record-breaking HK$2.5 million, which will go towards Habitat for Humanity's 'Project Home Works' community program, designed to help improve the living conditions of 250 vulnerable households in Hong Kong. Around 30% of the supported households will be within the Tuen Mun area where the Goodman Westlink property is located, directly contributing to the local community.

In other recent community news, members of our Hong Kong office supported charitable organisation Feeding Hong Kong in their mission to reduce food waste and support those in need.

A shocking 3,400 tonnes of food waste go to landfill in Hong Kong every day, while more than one million people live in poverty, struggling to afford three nutritious meals a day.

Our team went to Feeding Hong Kong's headquarters to help upload, sort and pack surplus food that the charity had collected from food companies to enable it to be redistributed to local community organisations including senior centres, crisis shelters, central kitchens, after school programmes and charity food banks.
