Mourant Relay Race 2022 – a runaway success!
Congratulations and thank you to all those who took part in the Guernsey Marathon Mourant Relay Race on Sunday, whether running or volunteering. The Mourant Relay Race saw over 280 runners take to Guernsey’s streets and it was incredible to see so many people taking part and capturing our Team Mourant #teamspirit.
Team Mourant had two teams taking on the marathon route and were joined by the Guernsey Football Association ladies team, one of our other community sponsorship partners.
Congratulations to our Mourant Team #2 (Alexander Hawkins, Iona Mitchell, Hugo Meredith, John Rochester and Toby Mann) who brought home the Mourant Law Cup for another year and were also the first Mixed Team across the line – the team finished 3rd overall in the relay race out of a near 50 teams of five runners.
There was an incredible atmosphere on the day, helped by the glorious sunshine, with a special team camaraderie truly visible throughout. From sounding the horn at 9.30am, welcoming runners across the finishing line, presenting the Mourant Relay Race Cups to the winning teams to then cheering the very last marathon runner home – it was another fun and memorable day.

Supporting an event that brings so many people together as a team for the Mourant Marathon Relay and offers an opportunity of inclusivity for people to get involved with the marathon event without running the full distance is really important to Mourant.
The day went spectacularly well, with the sun coming through just for us. Spirits were high and you could feel the Guernsey together atmosphere. Taking part in the relay myself, I felt like I was really part of something special and it was amazing to see the look of achievement on everyone’s faces as they passed the finish line. Thank you to all who took part, making the event what it is – an eagerly awaiting day of camaraderie and accomplishment.
