Inclusion and wellbeing
Inclusion sits at the heart of our firm-wide strategy and is a core business and people priority. We are committed to nurturing a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging and mutual respect, enabling all colleagues to thrive regardless of their backgrounds, identities or lived experiences.
Our ambitious Inclusion Strategy is supported by an active network of Inclusion Leaders and employee-led networks, guided by the Inclusion Steering Group and underpinned by a clear plan for ongoing action. Every person at Mourant has a part to play in helping us realise this vision and driving meaningful progress.
Community
We are proud of the strong connection we maintain with the communities in which we live and work. Our firm and our people support a wide range of local projects and fundraising initiatives across our global locations, including the BVI, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey, London, Luxembourg, Mauritius and Singapore. Through this involvement we aim to make a positive and lasting difference to local causes and community organisations.
Environment
Our Responsible Business commitments include goals and actions related to being accountable for our impact on the environment and being intentional in identifying opportunities to improve our environmental impact. We aim to continuously reduce our carbon emissions, and we are actively developing an action plan to support this, with an ultimate goal to achieve net-zero emissions. To make progress towards our net-zero ambitions we are committed to achieving near-term and longer-term carbon emissions reductions.
We are also actively developing our first Carbon Reduction Plan and look forward to sharing this.
Governance and ethics
We are committed to embedding responsible business considerations into every decision, upholding high governance and ethical standards in our policies and processes, and achieving business goals without compromising our integrity. We aim to connect with clients and suppliers on shared values, share successes, and work collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
Running through our history, and our DNA, is an ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit.
We have a strong track record in building highly successful ancillary businesses in order to provide our clients with services that complement our core legal offering. We were the first firm to establish a Channel Islands legal practice in London, one of the first law firms to adopt an alternative business model and successfully implemented the largest law firm merger in our markets. For over 25 years, we have been a member of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading network of independent law firms.
