Overview

We’re an international professional services firm combining legal, entity management, governance, regulatory and consulting services.

We advise on the laws of the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Jersey and Luxembourg and provide specialist entity management, governance, regulatory and consulting services. We bridge the gap between legal advice and its implementation, taking an integrated approach to deliver the best results for our clients.

We’re a globally-integrated firm with offices across leading international finance centres. Our business is intrinsically linked to the global economy and the capital flows that support it. We serve the needs of our clients in all major time zones, facilitating responsible cross-border finance and investment, the pooling and protection of capital and the resolution of disputes.

Our history

Our history began in Jersey in 1947, when Mourant du Feu & Jeune was founded in St Helier. Over time, strategic growth and mergers, including with Cayman law firm Quin & Hampson in 2007, helped build our international presence and broaden the expertise we offer our clients.

We expanded further in 2012, opening offices in Hong Kong and the British Virgin Islands and strengthening our presence across Asia and the Caribbean.

As the firm grew, we developed beyond our legal heritage, launching Mourant Governance Services in 2013 to provide specialist entity management and governance support.

In 2018, we rebranded as Mourant, our umbrella brand, bringing our legal and governance services together under one identity. We continued to broaden our offering in 2021 with the launch of Mourant Consulting, adding regulatory and consulting expertise to provide clients with more connected support.

In 2022, we acquired a specialist accounting firm with operations in Guernsey and Mauritius. The following year, we opened our Singapore office, extending our reach in Asia and strengthening our presence in a leading global finance centre.

We then expanded into Luxembourg, where our governance business received its PFS licence in 2024, enabling us to provide a broader range of corporate and fund administration services as well as legal services. In the same year, we launched Mourant Governance Services Singapore and relocated our London office to a new space in the heart of the City.

In August 2026, we announced a minority equity investment by MML, a specialist provider of partnership capital, alongside further investment from our existing owner-managers. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for Mourant, strengthening our capacity to invest in our people, technology and international growth.

Today, we are building on our heritage to create a leading integrated professional services firm. By combining legal advice with entity management, governance, regulatory and consulting expertise, we bridge the gap between advice and implementation. Giving clients seamless support across services, jurisdictions and every stage of their needs.
