We are pleased to celebrate two of our Guernsey lawyers, Francesca Perselli and Emma Kershaw, recently being sworn in as Advocates before the Royal Court of Guernsey.

Francesca is Counsel in our Guernsey Litigation team and has broad experience of litigation. She practises in trusts, insolvency, cross-border commercial disputes and intellectual property. Having studied Chemistry, Francesca is also particularly suited to cases of a technical, numerical or scientific nature.

Prior to joining Mourant Francesca practised as a barrister in London at Maitland Chambers and New Square Chambers. She has extensive advocacy experience, having regularly appeared as trial counsel and at appellate level in the English courts.

Francesca has maintained a professional connection with Guernsey since 2015, when she worked at Mourant on secondment. She also undertook secondments with other firms in Guernsey in 2017 and Jersey in 2019, gaining a thorough working knowledge of Channel Islands litigation.

Emma is an Associate in our Guernsey Corporate team. Her work spans a wide range of corporate and financing matters, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, migrations, asset financing and regulatory advice.

Emma trained and qualified with Mourant, gaining valuable experience across our Employment and Litigation teams before qualifying into the Guernsey Corporate practice in 2022.

“We are delighted to celebrate this significant milestone in Francesca and Emma’s careers. The route to becoming a Guernsey Advocate is demanding, requiring commitment and extensive knowledge of Guernsey and Norman French law and procedure. Both Francesca and Emma’s dedication, expertise and longstanding connection with the island are evident, and this achievement is thoroughly well-deserved.”

Recently, we also celebrated three of our Jersey-based lawyers, Holly Thebault, Jula Le Cornu and Kiara Brennan, being sworn in as Advocates before the Royal Court of Jersey.
