Overview

I’m Counsel in our Jersey office having re-joined the firm in 2018.

My practice focuses primarily on working with real estate and private equity fund promoters in connection with fund launches, restructurings, investment holding structures and associated related regulatory matters.

Prior to re-joining the firm I worked as a Client Director in the Funds Services team at Crestbridge in Jersey where I held a number of regulated board positions together with acting as an "A" authorised signatory for the business.

I trained with Mourant Ozannes in Jersey, joining the firm in 2007, and after qualifying as a solicitor I was seconded to the Jersey Financial Services Commission to work with the TCB/FSB Supervision and Fund Authorisation teams in connection with various projects including the implementation of the successful Jersey Private Funds regime.

Work highlights

  • advising DTZ Investors in connection with the establishment of the world’s first unlisted collective investment vehicle with The Collection investing in large scale purpose-built London co-living buildings. The fund is targeting a fund size of £1 billion investing in 6-10 assets in London.

  • advising on the establishment of a joint venture limited partnership vehicle and underlying Jersey property unit trusts, set up to make investments in multi-family residential build-to-rent and private rented sectors. The joint venture (with its Canadian cornerstone investor) is aiming to deploy £650m in the sector.
  • advising PE Deutsche Private Equity on the establishment and successful fundraising for its latest fund, 'DPE Deutschland IV'. Fund IV closed early after the demand greatly exceeded the stipulated maximum cap of EUR1 billion in subscribed capital.
  • advising Suntec in connection with their inaugural investment in the UK, a £430m acquisition of a 50% interest in The Nova Building, Victoria, London.
  • advising Elevation Advisors LLP in respect of the conversion of Elevation Healthcare Properties into a REIT, listed on The International Stock Exchange.
