Bringing Caymanian students together in London
We recently welcomed 19 Caymanian students to the Mourant London office for our first in-person Student Mixer.
Held in partnership with Cayman Connection, a non-profit membership organisation connecting Caymanian students, the mixer brought together students from across the UK for an evening of networking, conversation and career advice.
Hosted at our London office in the heart of the City, the mixer provided the students with the opportunity to connect with fellow Caymanians currently completing their degrees and postgraduate programmes in the UK, learn more about opportunities at Mourant, including our various student programmes that run across our global offices, and expand their professional networks, in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The event was also attended by our Cayman legal team based in London, members of Mourant Governance Services, and colleagues from a number of our business services teams; giving the students the opportunity to hear first-hand about a wide range of career paths available.
The evening generated plenty of discussion, with conversations covering everything from life as a Caymanian student in the UK and experiences of studying overseas, to careers in law, governance services and the wider professional services industry.
Following the mixer, our guests continued the conversations over a friendly game of shuffleboard at Electric Shuffle.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success.
“We would like to thank all the Caymanian students who attended our first in-person student mixer. I was incredibly impressed by the ambition, focus and dedication demonstrated by the students that I spoke with. As one of Mourant’s key jurisdictions, Cayman plays a vital role in our global business, and we are committed to supporting and nurturing the next generation of Caymanian talent. Events like this provide a valuable opportunity to build connections, share experiences and help students explore the many career paths available to them as they begin their professional journeys. Hopefully this event is the first of many!”
