Mourant sponsors 2021 CI Pride Parade
Mourant is proud to partner with Liberate, the Channel Islands' LGBTQ+ charity, for the second consecutive year to celebrate diversity in our communities.
2021 sees Jersey carrying the official Channel Islands Pride flag and Mourant is thrilled to sponsor the CI Pride Parade, following our sponsorship in Guernsey last year. Pride aligns itself with many of our own core values and it's a fantastic opportunity to openly support our colourful and diverse community.
The CI Pride Parade on Saturday 21 August will weave a rainbow through Jersey's capital, St Helier, taking in some of the town's best sights. Everyone joining in will be treated to live, en-route entertainment from a range of local artists.
Christian May, Director of Channel Islands Pride said, “We’re thrilled that Mourant has returned as a sponsor in 2021, having sponsored CI Pride in Guernsey last year.
“The parade, which is a cornerstone of the CI Pride, gets to the heart of why we celebrate: it’s an opportunity for the LGBTQ+ community to be visible, without fear, and a reminder that the first Pride was born from a protest, as a march for freedom and equality. I’d like to thank Mourant for their continued support, and I look forward to joining them and the island's community in the parade on 21 August.”
While the parade is taking place in Jersey in 2021, Guernsey will also be hosting a supporting community event for those that are unable to travel to the sister island. 'Pride at the Princess Royal', of which Mourant is Main Sponsor, promises to be a fun and colourful event with both indoor and outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy.
As a local employer in the Channel Islands, we're committed to nurturing an inclusive environment, where our people are able to bring their whole self to work every day and feel that they belong. Team Mourant is looking forward to celebrating CI Pride in Jersey and Guernsey and supporting inclusion across our whole community.
