Chair

Overview

I'm a Chair and Non-Executive Director, with a strong leadership and governance record in a wide range of significant business enterprises.

Through a financial services career spanning more than three decades, I've developed an extensive international network, working closely with global brand names, including HSBC and Jersey Finance, as well as regularly interacting with C-Suite executives, government ministers and senior regulatory officials.

I have a deep knowledge of the CDOTs International Finance Centres specifically, and enjoy positive relationships with the Government of Jersey, the Jersey Financial Services Commission and the Global Financial Services sector.  Until recently, I represented Jersey's most prominent social enterprise as Chair and I'm proud to be a member of the Government of Jersey Revenue Policy Development Board, and Chair of the STEP Global Public Policy Committee.

The various professional and Non-Executive Director roles I've held, and currently hold, mean I have a comprehensive knowledge of corporate governance along with experience as a director of a wide range of bank, private capital, fund, financial services and social enterprise boards. I've chaired and participated in several audit, risk and remuneration committees and I've been closely involved in the commission and management of major consultancy projects working with global brands such as McKinsey, London Business School, Oliver Wyman, and Capital Economics.

I have extensive experience of international regulation in either an approved capacity or through direct interaction on jurisdictional and policy matters with global intergovernmental organisations (including the OECD, IMF and FATF), principal regulators, commissions, financial institutions and monetary authorities across the world's international financial centres.

Before joining Jersey Finance, I was Head of Wealth Management for HSBC Bank Plc, based in London, and was responsible for delivering trusts and financial planning, wealth and mortgage services to the 10 million HSBC customers in the UK. Earlier in my career I was appointed to senior executive roles and directorships of various HSBC entities, including a spell as the Deputy Chief Executive of HSBC Bank International which included strategy work in Hong Kong, where I developed a blueprint for HSBC's wealth management business in Asia.
