Mourant moves to new BVI offices
19 November 2019
Global offshore law firm, Mourant, has moved into state-of-the-art offices in the new Meridian Plaza development this week.
The firm is well-established in the BVI and opened its office in Road Town, Tortola in 2012. The team delivers a full range of BVI legal advice to an extensive group of local and international clients.
Mourant has been working in partnership with Meridian Construction since Hurricane Irma to provide the team with modern, flexible working space that reflects the firm's collaborative and dynamic culture.
BVI Managing Partner, Rachael McDonald, said: "This is an exciting time for us and the culmination of a project that represents much more than a permanent home post-Irma."
"We have long-understood the value of having a meaningful presence on the ground in BVI. The BVI office remains an important and integral part of our global business."
"Irma presented challenges for all of the BVI but it also demonstrated the incredible resilience of BVI businesses and our people. Moving into Meridian Plaza is a significant milestone for us in terms of signalling our continuing commitment to the BVI and we are absolutely thrilled to be able to celebrate moving in to our new home."
"We have a long list of colleagues and friends here in the BVI and elsewhere to thank for the generous support and help they've given as we've worked with Meridian to build the new offices from the ground up. We are extremely grateful for all the support we've been given; it's been well worth the wait."
Meridian Plaza is a mixed-use development in the Wickham's Cay area of Road Town. It encompasses the new 'Waters Edge' commercial building, as well as plans for a new marina, hotel and retail outlets.
