Applications for 2026 student schemes in Jersey now open

We have opened 2026 applications for four popular student schemes in Jersey.

Applications for all programmes open on Wednesday 1 April 2026 and can be made via our website.

Bursary Scheme

Our Bursary Scheme provides a gateway for A-level graduates and current university students to join our firm’s award-winning Jersey legal practice. The scheme offers not just financial support, but also the potential for a future career with Mourant post-graduation.

Bursary Scheme students will benefit from an annual payment to support their academic journey, a minimum of four weeks’ paid work experience over the year, and access to a wealth of online resources, personal mentorship, and expert guidance.

Participants will gain invaluable insights into diverse legal practices as well as the chance to work with our firm’s leading global clients.

Work Experience Scheme

Complementing the Bursary scheme, we also offer annual work experience placements for students in our Jersey office.

The work experience scheme comprises two weeks’ paid work experience in one of our firm’s practice groups. Students will benefit from support and expert guidance along with constructive feedback and valuable career advice.

Governance Services Summer Scheme

Our Governance Services Summer Scheme is designed for students currently studying for A-levels (or equivalent) or at university, and who are interested in discovering more about a career in financial services.

The Summer Scheme offers two to four weeks’ paid work experience in our Jersey team, providing a valuable insight into the world of corporate and trust administration and accounting. We are also accepting applications in our Guernsey and London offices for this programme.

Mourant Governance Services supports clients including financial institutions, asset managers, global corporates, high-net-worth individuals and family offices. The firm also routinely works in partnership with the most prestigious international legal and accountancy firms.

Students will be provided with a personal mentor for the duration of the work experience, in addition to the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Governance Services Trainee Rotation Programme

For students due to complete their A-levels or university studies this year, our Trainee Rotation Programme provides an excellent opportunity to kick start a career in the professional services industry.

During the 12-month programme, students will have the opportunity to work within a variety of administration, accounting, and operations teams across our Governance Services teams in Jersey.

The role offers exposure to different client types, risk management, the world of accounting, and insight into how our firm manages its global operations.
