Mourant to support Guernsey girls football for two more years

We have confirmed our support of the Mourant Girls Academy, part of the wider Guernsey Football Association (GFA), for a further two years. We have been proud supporters of the club for the past six consecutive years.

The Mourant Girls Academy was created in October 2019 to provide an opportunity for girls who have shown talent and passion for football to be a part of a team with girls of similar abilities and aspirations. The Girls Academy groups have allowed them to play in an all-female team to develop a pathway into youth and senior female football.

For the 25/26 season the GFA continued to use a trial format to select players for the Girls Academy. Over the two trial weeks 70 talented footballers attended, and the GFA selected 58 to represent the Mourant Girls Academy.

Our continued sponsorship of the academy closely aligns with our firm’s focus on teamwork, development and inclusion, with the funding helping unlock opportunities for Guernsey’s young female players to excel – including specialised training facilities at Victoria Park and the chance to compete off-island.

Earlier this year, we also confirmed our sponsorship of the Mourant Guernsey Junior Cricket Leagues for the next three years. The Mourant Guernsey Junior Cricket Leagues will provide boys and girls aged up to 14 with a fun, inclusive and competitive introduction to cricket, focused on skill development, confidence and enjoyment of the game.
