Mourant advises KKCG Real Estate Group on £291m acquisition of 1 St James’s Square

Our BVI Corporate team recently advised KKCG Real Estate Group on the £291 million acquisition of 1 St James’s Square, the landmark West End office building currently occupied by BP as its London headquarters.
This latest acquisition supports the developer-investor’s strategy to build a portfolio of prime office assets in central London. KKCG Real Estate Group intends to bring forward the consented Foster + Partners-designed scheme, delivering 120,943 square foot net of prime office space once BP vacates in April 2028.
Founded over 30 years ago by Karel Komárek, KKCG is now a global investment and innovation group with a portfolio of companies spanning more than 40 countries.
Ian Montgomery, head of our BVI Corporate, Finance and Investment Funds practice, led the transaction for Mourant, supported by Martyn Heyes (Counsel) and Katharina Jungclaussen (Associate). The team worked in collaboration with CMS UK and Deloitte on the deal.
