Sophie Christodoulou

Sophie Christodoulou

Counsel

Overview

I am Counsel within the Litigation and Insolvency practice of the BVI office. I act on a broad range of complex commercial disputes, including civil fraud, unfair prejudice and shareholder disputes, contentious trust and probate matters, and cross-border enforcement proceedings, including asset tracing and recovery, as well as disputes arising in connection with cryptocurrencies and digital assets.

I advise on insolvency and restructuring-related disputes, including liquidations, provisional liquidations, receiverships, and office-holder claims, often in a multi-jurisdictional context. I regularly advise on injunctions and other interim relief, as well as appellate applications, and run matters through to trial.

I have practised in the BVI since January 2019, working across time zones with global teams, with significant Court exposure.

Previously I worked for Addleshaw Goddard LLP in the UK, acting for some of their largest FTSE 100 clients (including a major supermarket chain and several national high street retailers) power companies and an investment fund. Prior to that, I trained with and qualified into the commercial litigation department of Irwin Mitchell LLP, working on a wide range of commercial disputes and gaining a significant amount of experience in alternative dispute resolution.
