Overview

Overview

I was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1975. After five years’ practising in England (undertaking both criminal defence and civil litigation), I moved to Guernsey in 1980 to work for an international merchant bank.

In 1986, I joined a leading Guernsey law firm and, in the same year, was called to the Guernsey Bar and became a notary public. I headed the firm’s Litigation Department from 1989 and served as Managing Partner from 1998 to 2017. Following this tenure, I remained at the firm as a Consultant until June 2025, when I joined Mourant.

My specialisms span the full range of major litigation and advocacy work, including asset tracing, multi-jurisdictional disputes, and commercial and trust litigation. I have been involved in many of the most significant litigation cases before the Royal Court of Guernsey and the Guernsey Court of Appeal, and I am one of the few Guernsey advocates to have appeared as counsel before the Privy Council.

I am a founding member of FraudNet, a body of the world’s leading fraud lawyers established by the International Chamber of Commerce.
