We have advised the underwriters on the Jersey law elements of the committed financing of Apollo Funds’ cash offer (with equity alternative) for leading European airline, easyJet plc. The deal values easyJet plc at £5.7 billion, equivalent to £7.15 per share.
The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, including UK and European aviation-related regulatory approvals.
Partner Sam Malpass from our Finance and Corporate team led the transaction, alongside Gareth Rigby (Partner), Lauren Maycox (Senior Associate), Katie Priester (Senior Associate) and Sophie Allan (Associate).
The team worked in close collaboration with instructing onshore counsel, A&O Shearman.
“This was a significant and fast-moving transaction that highlights the strength of our Jersey Finance and Corporate practice and our ability to deliver seamless support on complex mandates. It was a pleasure to work alongside the extremely talented team at A&O Shearman on a deal of such scale and strategic importance.”
