Four at Mourant are 'names to know' in Global Restructuring Review

Four Mourant partners in Hong Kong have been listed by Global Restructuring Review (GRR) as, 'Names to know in Hong Kong and China'.

Hong Kong Managing, Paul Christopher is listed alongside partners Shaun Folpp, Claire Fulton and Justine Lau in GRR's latest Guide to individuals and firms that the leading publication rates as being most active and respected in the restructuring world, based in Hong Kong and China.

GRR states that in this region, having restructuring advisers and lawyers who understand the local market is invaluable and cites two cases to support the Mourant lawyers' listings in the guide. First, in relation to the leading offshore firm acting on behalf of the multi-billion dollar China Fishery Group in its efforts to restructure its affairs, including significant debt, and which saw petition proceedings brought against it in both Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands by which orders were sought for its winding up. And second, a case which saw Mourant acting for Natural Dairy, a company listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK), in defense of winding up proceedings before the Cayman Islands Court brought on just and equitable grounds.
