Mourant Partners once again named 'leaders in their fields' by Who's Who Legal Aviation: 2020

Mourant Hong Kong Partners Simon Lawrenson and Danielle Roman have been recognised for their expertise in aviation law and financing for the fourth and third year running respectively.
Mourant is the only offshore law firm in Asia to have two experts named by the 2020 Who's Who Legal: Aviation guide as leaders in their fields. The guide is based on independent research and recommendations from peers and clients in their respective fields and individuals listed are identified as the most prominent practitioners in the sector for their work on a range of high-profile regulatory, finance and contentious matters.
In the last 12 months the team, which is widely recognized in the aviation finance sector for its expertise, won the ‘Overall Deal of the Year' award at the Airfinance Journal Awards. The award was for work on a US$2.21 billion deal involving two of the world's biggest players in the aircraft leasing industry, with the Mourant team advising ORIX Aviation on the Cayman legal aspects of its acquisition of a 30% stake of Avolon Holdings Ltd., the world’s third largest aircraft lessor by fleet size.
Mourant Partner, Simon Lawrenson is Head of the firm's banking and finance practice in Hong Kong, and has significant experience in banking and finance transactions. As well as this impressive year on year recognition by Who's Who Legal: Aviation, he is also frequently recognised by legal directories for his technical expertise and experience in the aviation financing sector.
Also a Partner in the firm's Hong Kong banking and finance practice - Danielle Roman, has vast expertise in helping major financial institutions, lessors and investors on the financing and leasing of commercial aircraft, corporate jets and related assets. She also advises on the finance and leasing of ships and other vessels. Earlier this month, Danielle was shortlisted in the Euromoney Legal Media Group Asia Women in Business Law Awards in the offshore category. Danielle has now been recognised by Who's Who Legal: Aviation for three years running.
